The Use of Interactive Whiteboard and Skills

First, the working principle of interactive whiteboard

Interactive whiteboards can be divided into pressure induction, electromagnetic induction, infrared, ultrasonic, CCD and other categories according to the principle. Each technology has different features and advantages and has a certain share in the market. The analysis report of the international authoritative market research agency shows that in the international market in recent years, electronic whiteboards with electromagnetic induction technology and pressure induction technology have dominated the market, followed by ultrasonic and infrared technology.

(1) The positioning principle of the interactive whiteboard

(1) Pressure-sensitive technology: An electronic whiteboard using pressure-sensitive input method is equivalent to a touch screen of a computer. When the teacher touches the actual options on the screen with a finger or a pen, the computer will automatically process the corresponding operation. In fact, there are two layers of sensitive film inside this electronic whiteboard. When a certain point on the surface of the whiteboard is under pressure, the two layers of film form a short circuit at this point. The controller of the electronic whiteboard detects the coordinate value of the pressure point and sends it to the computer.

(2) Electromagnetic wave technology: The electromagnetic induction whiteboard uses a pen that can emit electromagnetic waves, and the receiving coil films are arranged in the horizontal and vertical directions of the whiteboard. When the pen is close to the receiving coil membrane, the coil chamber senses the electromagnetic waves emitted by the pen. The closer you are to the pen, the higher the motorized motion sensed by the coil membrane.

(3) Infrared technology: The horizontal and vertical scanning grids are formed by infrared receiving and transmitting tubes densely distributed around the display area to form a scanning plane network. When an object blocks a pair of horizontal and vertical scanning lines in the grid , the X and Y coordinates can be determined by the position of the blocked horizontal and vertical infrared rays.

(4) Ultrasonic technology: two ultrasonic receiving devices distributed at a fixed distance are placed on both sides of the screen. The pen used for positioning is an ultrasonic transmitter. When the pen moves on the surface of the screen, the emitted ultrasonic waves are transmitted along the surface of the screen. The receiver detects that the distance between the pen and the two receivers can be converted from the time when the ultrasonic wave is received.

(2) Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of various interactive whiteboards

(1) Electromagnetic induction: basic principle: radio frequency (RF) principle, a sensor is installed in the core of the whiteboard, and the specific frequency signal sent by the electromagnetic pen is received to achieve positioning; advantages: accurate positioning, high precision, high reliability, long life, and response speed Faster, there is pressure in the writing process, and the whiteboard pen supports functions such as the right mouse button, which is easy to operate on the computer; Disadvantage: A special pen must be used.

(2) Infrared: Basic principle: Infrared principle, through the infrared tube around the whiteboard to detect objects that block infrared light to achieve positioning; advantages: accurate positioning, high precision, no need for a special pen, long service life, fast response speed ;Disadvantages: no pressure-sensitive response, affected by strong light and dust, whiteboard pen does not support functions such as the right mouse button, and it is difficult to operate on the computer

(3) Resistive pressure sensing: basic principle: resistive film technology, which realizes pressure sensing positioning by detecting the resistance value; advantages: relatively accurate positioning, no need for a special pen; disadvantages: fear of scratches, unable to make large areas, difficult to operate on a computer

Second, the use of interactive whiteboard and skills

In the process of using the interactive whiteboard, it is very helpful for the classroom to master some methods and skills. Of course, all the methods and techniques can only be experienced and used freely through their own continuous practice. The following blogger will talk about some common methods and techniques according to his own use.

Before talking about methods and techniques, let's first distinguish three working modes: control mode, window mode and annotation mode.

For beginners of interactive whiteboards, these three modes are difficult to distinguish and understand. Let me tell you a simple analogy that might make it easier for you to understand them. If you've ever taken a multimedia class, you must be familiar with the procedures involved. Use a computer in multimedia classes, and show the courseware, pictures, text, video, music, etc. you have prepared before class to the students through the computer and projector, so as to make your class vivid. These all require teachers to be able to operate a computer. In the interactive whiteboard, the control of the computer is carried out in the control mode. In the control mode, the electronic pen in the hand is equivalent to a mouse. All steps that can be done with a mouse can be replaced with a pen. When you want to open a courseware or other application, you can quickly click twice on the corresponding icon with the pen, which is equivalent to double-clicking the mouse, or pressing and holding the auxiliary button on the electronic pen and then clicking on the corresponding icon. , which is equivalent to a right mouse click.

When you are playing the courseware and want to write some content on the blackboard, you will pick up the chalk and write on the erased place on the blackboard. If you make a mistake or write it all over, you will choose the board to erase some content. In an interactive whiteboard, this can all be done in windowed mode and annotation mode. The difference and connection between these two modes is also a difficulty for beginners. Entering window mode for the first time from control mode will automatically create a new blank page. For example, when you start class, the blackboard has been wiped clean by your classmates. When you enter the annotation mode from the control mode, the screen display content you see in the control mode will be used as the background. Some tools that can be used in the control mode are no longer available. You can only use this background image Annotate and so on above. At this point, if you enter the window mode again, you will find that the window mode does not create a new page, but uses the background image just now as the page background. In fact, annotation mode can be understood as a full-screen display in windowed mode. You see, when we select "View" in the menu bar in windowed mode, and then select * one: "full-screen mode", you will find that it is now back to annotation mode. . These are not accidental discoveries. Only in the continuous practice of our blogger Gan Lin Pea, will we gradually get to know them and understand them. The operations that can be done in the window mode can be done in the annotation mode accordingly. Likewise, operations that can be done in annotation mode can also be done in windowed mode.

Here are some methods and techniques:

1. Tips for switching between modes

In windowed mode, the software will automatically switch to control mode when running other applications. In the control mode, if you click the brush and other tools that can only be used in the window mode and the annotation mode, the software will automatically switch to the annotation mode.

2. Create, open and save documents

When you use the interactive whiteboard for class, you can create a document of your own. As for why you need to create a new one, you can give an example. When a teacher in front of you has used this electronic whiteboard without saving the class record, you will see the class content of the previous teacher when you enter the window mode, especially when you accidentally click "Previous", you It will feel inexplicable, because you have not written those contents in your impression! If you re-enter the whiteboard from the computer desktop, a new document will be automatically created for you, and the above problems will not be encountered.

When you finish a class on the interactive whiteboard and want to review the current class content in future teaching, you can save the class content. The method is that when you exit the software, a selection box will pop up asking you to save. When you choose "Yes", you can take a name and save it in the specified location. When you select "No" or "Cancel", your class will not be saved.

When you want to take a class on the interactive whiteboard, and the relevant content has been previously recorded and saved on the interactive whiteboard, you can open the previous class record and start the teaching of this class instead of writing it again. This is also where the interactive whiteboards superior to the old teaching mode of the "trinity" of traditional blackboards, chalks and erasers, and we should advocate the use.

3. Set page background color

In the three modes, selecting a new page will create an empty page. By default, the newly created page is pure white. If we want to change a color as the background, then we should select "Paint" in the main menu, and then select "Background Color", then the program pops up the background color selection box, click to select the desired page color.

4. export page as image

Export some or all pages as images, and support three formats: *.bmp, *.jpg, and *.png. Click "File" on the main menu and select "Export as Image". The program pops up the "Export as Picture" window to select the export range. After selecting the range, the program pops up the second form of "Export as Picture". Enter a file name, select a save type, and click "Save".

5. What makes highlighters unique

Enter the brush selection through the main menu, there will be some brushes: normal pen, highlighter, brush, row pen. Except for the highlighter, you can choose the other three according to your preferences, and then set the color, thickness and other properties. The highlighter is different from the previous three in that it is a translucent pen that is generally used to annotate key points. Note that it won't completely cover what you've painted. In fact, by setting other pens, you can also have the same function as a highlighter, which requires setting the transparency in the brush custom properties, which is completely opaque by default.

6. There are restrictions on board erasers, you must know

Beginners always think that using a board eraser can erase what they have made on the whiteboard. In fact, the eraser function has very few restrictions. *: It can only erase the content written and drawn by ordinary pens, highlighters, brushes, and typesetting tools, and this also has the premise that you cannot try to erase after combining the content you have written. Second: The handwriting recognition cannot be erased. You must remember this point. You can select the text written by handwriting recognition, then click the small triangle in the upper right corner of the box, and select Delete in the pop-up menu (this method is very useful). Second: The graphics drawn by the geometric tools cannot be erased by the board eraser, let alone an edge or an arc. Fourth: The contents of the combination cannot be erased with a board eraser.

7. Selection tool, which acts like a mouse pointer

Many times you need to use this tool. If you don't believe me, please see the following: (1) When you want to delete those things that cannot be erased with a board eraser, you can use this tool to select objects. Once the object is selected, a blue focus outline and edit points will appear around the object. About what is an object? You may not understand, in fact, the words you write, the pictures you draw, the pictures you take, and the photos you take on the page can all be called objects. Note that the object here is also limited, that is, it is only limited to the new page you create, you do not try to delete a button outside the page and so on.

(2) If you are currently taking a literacy class and ask students to come up and write, then you should pay attention. When you choose the brush tool and ask a few students to come up and write, you don't choose any other tool in the process. A certain student's handwriting is really bad, but it's okay, it can be adjusted to make the handwriting look good, you may have a headache here. Because when you want to choose the unwritten word, other words are also chosen, which is totally unexpected. In fact, you have been using that kind of brush just now, and it has not been replaced in the middle. The whiteboard software will take the content written during the use as an object, not as many objects as you think there are as many words. The solution is to remember to click the selection tool after you use it once, and then select the tool you just used, then the above situation will not appear. Of course, you can click other tools when switching tools, as long as you remember to switch back immediately.

(3) You can zoom, delete, copy and other operations on multiple objects by selecting multiple objects in turn, instead of repeating similar operations for only one object at a time. ...

8. what is the lock for?

Also take the literacy class as an example, if you drag a field grid from the public gallery, and then you don't want to change it in the next operation, you can lock it. The method is to select the object to be locked, click the Edit menu button in the upper right corner, and select "Lock" in its pop-up menu.

The focus frame of the locked object turns red when locked. Unlocking Follow the locking steps to unlock by clicking the lock button again.

9. Combination - split and combine

By combining, you can combine multiple objects into a whole, and then operate on this whole, just like manipulating an object. The combination function is also very commonly used, but for beginners, they do not understand its purpose. Combination can greatly improve the efficiency of some aspects. Just imagine that the car is just a bunch of scattered parts before it is assembled, and it is impossible to perform the function of the car as a whole. The method of combining is to select multiple objects (if there is only one object, there is no need to combine them), click the Edit menu button in the upper right corner of a selected object, and select "Group" in its pop-up menu.
